Pasture Shadows, 1987
The Kula hills are dotted with paddocks and cattle-related constructs that make interesting paintings. A fence line defines space, giving perspective to the pastures. Over time, the trees get taller but the years seem to have less effect in these places.
I keep thinking that if I hang around in these spots, time will slow down for me as well. At the very least, I can freeze time in a sense, by putting it on canvas.
