The Curtis Wilson Cost Gallery

Hale Paniolo, 2005

Surrounding a cluster of red cowboy houses stands a grove of enormous eucalyptus trees in the old dairy area of Makawao. They carve their huge shapes into the sky and lay topographical shadows across the pastures beneath them. It's surprising how universal pastoral scenery is around the world. With the exception of the Ti plants, I grew up in subject matter almost identical to this in southern California.
