Eddie's View, 2014
I love the way light describes the texture and topography of the hills. In this piece, the cows have traversed the steep sides of the ravines as they graze leaving corduroy paths along the walls. The grass is richer in harder-to-reach areas, but they find their way to it. Over the centuries, the rain has made its way to the sea in a circuitous route through these pastures, leaving sculpted gullies for people like me to admire. There is so much to see in the everyday world that tends not to be noticed, unless you have a paint brush in hand.
