The story of Return to Makena Molokini

Ko pono na mea apau I na kanaka no lakou ka maluhia. Everything falls into place for those who know peace.

Makena has always been a sanctuary for me, an oasis of safety from the world at large. It is with this in mind that I set aside a year to completely escape into its sanctuary. For me, it's more of an escape into the real than away from reality because, after all, reality is what we make it. Hope springs eternal in the land of turquoise and lush greens. This painting is about peace, abundance, and well being. The world at large with all its psychological pains and drama never intrudes into the sanctuary of Makena.
